The inner and outer work of healing the relationship with your parents and allowing the flow of love in one’s life and family
Maybe you love your parents but find it difficult to be around them, or around one of them. You spend some time visiting or on a call and your mom says something and you feel your heart shrink and you can’t breathe quite right. Or dad looks at you in a certain way and your stomach hurts like someone punched you. Maybe your parents are long gone but some of the thoughts you have about them are upsetting, and you wonder whether you’ll ever be free. You even dream of your mom or dad in ways that bring up emotion.
Peace is possible, and there are things you can do without your parents participating in any way. Without the expectation that your parents will change their views or behaviour, there are things you can do to smooth the edges between you and them and even open a flow of love between your heart and theirs. It is possible to turn resentment into love, fear into love, and to make your engaging with your parents warmer, more pleasant, more caring.
The workshop covers:
- The embodied perspective way to compassion
- The transcendent way to compassion
- Authentic sharing for evoking empathy
- Asking for what you need in ways that increase the chance for fulfillment
- Minding the order of love in your family system
